I’m trying to sell the look of individual letters “stitching” onto screen as if made by a sewing machine.

My first attempt so far has been to painstakingly trace mask paths over the “seams” of the type and animate a write-on reveal. Because it looked too clean, I lowered the frame rate to 20fps, but I am still not satisfied.

Has anyone ever successfully made something like this? What method did you use?

    Any recommendations on other approaches?

    Many thanks!

I’d be using an animated fill texture that looked like embroidery.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”

Well, the text does already look like embroidery. Do you mean using an animated alpha to generate the image?
