  • Stills tearing when move applied

Hi, I’m having trouble with a cut I’m doing. I have approximately 10 stills. Some of the stills were shot on a horizontal plane and some on a verticle plane. The horizontal plane shots are all ok. It’s the verticle shots that I’ve brought into fcp and shifted -90 degrees to put on a horizontal plane. When I put a move on them I get horizontal tearing. I get a green bar above the shot which is ok but the shot then looks soft. When I go to render the shot is when I get the tearing. Any help would be appreciated.
Im working with stills that are photo jpegs approx 2100×1500 dpi. Im working with fcp 6.05 on a dual 2.3
Thats about all I can think of.

    Thanks, Bill

try taking the photos into photoshop and exporting them to a smaller resolution. I’ve read that FCP doesn’t like really big images.

Also, in photoshop you’ll need to convert all pictures to the proper pixel aspect ratio.
