Ive been comparing render settings using the “still” vs “animation” filter in the render dialog of C4D. Setting the filter to “Animation” makes the results very blurry compared to the still image filter setting.

Im rendering a scene where I am slowly panning up a street, and using the still render filter, its very crips but almost seems to have little artifacts that resemble interlaced frames. Howeverm using the animation filter on the scene makes it look overly blurry and it just doesn’t look crisp.

Which setting do you guys use for your animation outputs?

Use still — and output your motion vectors to Reelsmart — and apply motion blur in post.

Those are the best results that I have gotten.

with the “blend” filter you can interpolate between “still” and “animation”.
