    Don’t laugh,

I have a nice system that runs 7 and i tired 11 but back to 7 so i can get work done. I bought vegas a lonngggg time ago and over the years morphed to 14 and with subscription stuff just stayed there. I dual boot to 7 or 10 (windows 10 for tax season) and turbo tax insist on 11 for this year.

So, i upgraded the 10 to 11 on the seperate drive and HATE 11 more than 10. I attempted to spoof my 7 into 11 to bypass turbo tax security and it would not work. So back to dual boot 7/11 fair enough. During all of this the license for vegas is now pissed off.

    Anyway,,

the 14 will not load now, the original cd from 2000s ish i can not find. What version of vegas/magic can i install on 7 and function? any link to a download? I am okay to purchase again. This is for hobby/home use and I am on DSL making online work a pain. Any advice to point me in the proper direction would be great.

I troubleshot with GEMINI AI this morning and decided to reinstall but that is a bust because I do not have the original key. I also tried to download the latest and it will not load

    Thank you in advance,

    Chris

    Hey Chris,

    How annoying, feeling your pain.

Vegas Pro 17 appear to be the last version that may work on Windows 7 (According to Google A.I.).

However, where you find one of those, with a valid licence is another matter.
Looking at eBay, that looks like a place for knock-offs.

I agree with you on the issues around Windows 11, but I don’t have a choice as I am on the latest version.
With that in mind, have you thought about installing something like the free version of Resolve Davinci on your Windows 11 partition?

If Vegas is your thing, you could also download the latest version of Vegas Pro 23, which you can subscripe to on a monthly plan.

For version 14 and 17 I did do a search on GitHub, but did not like the options available – keep in mind that you might be able to download the installer. But it might be “modified” to take advantage of security holes in Windows 7.

Sorry, I know that this is not what you are after, but unless you purchase a “second-hand” version, that is going to be an uphill journey.

    Hope that this helps?

PS: This might help you, but at your own risk.
And, if asked, you did not get it from me 😀
