  • still struggling with Sony XD Cam workflow issue

I would like to hear from somebody who shoots with the Sony XD Cam and also has a Kona LHe card with FCP. I’m experiencing some post issues (strobing dissolves) and I want to double check the proper workflow from footage transfer into Final Cut, selection of the right easy setup for a project, as well as the right sequence settings to deal with this progressive footage. The XD Cam footage I’m using was shot at the highest camera setting (XDCAM 1080p24 – 35 mb/s VBR). and I’ve installed the transfer software form Sony which includes the easy setups that work with the footage.

Can someone share their workflow, setup selections and any known problems with this footage in Final Cut and or Kona LHe.

    Thank you.

    Alan,

How are you monitoring? I ask because you need to make certain with most HD monitors that your view settings in FCP are set to display at Kona 1080i 8-bit 29.97, as most monitors cannot handle 24 FPS. That may not be your issue, but then again if you didn’t know that maybe it is.
