  • Still searching for my favorite tool from 6.5…..lost in CS4?

    Hard to explain this tool.

In 6.5 if I had a project with 500 cuts and I decided I did not like the entire middle third of the project and deleted it, there was a tool that would allow me to drag all tracks (say 5 video, 7 audio) from the last 3rd to the left in perfect sync to connect them seamlessly to the first third.

This tool was right there with the slip tool and the hand tool, etc.

How is this accomplished now? I can drag one track but not 12. Some kind of ripple delete or is this another lost function of 6.5 (there are quite a few others but they escape me at the moment).

Thanks and have a great day!

There is still the Track Select tool, modified with the Ctrl key to select all tracks to the right or use the Select tool to lasso a group of clips that can be moved as one unit.

    Thank YOU so much!

I’ve been trying to figure that one out for about a year. Certainly a critical tool for what I do.

    Have a great day.

    Best,

    Todd

Does the control key modify it too? I always use the Shift key…

Tim, you are too kind! No the Ctrl key does not work with the track select tool like I said earlier, just the Shift key…my bad!
