I am doing a video montage using all still photos…i have set several photos of hi resolution to pan from one end to the other and i find that often times premiere doesn’t give me smooth motion…it almost seems as if premiere is having trouble doing it and the pan is not fully smooth but has some hint of jerkiness…any ideas on this?

    thanks

I don’t know if this will help because I don’t know what computer you’re working on but I ran into a similar experience working with HD image files (1920 x 1080) uncompressed. Even though I have a dual core processor and 4 gigs of RAM – it still was not enough to handle the image movement. So, it wasn’t the software, it was my computer. I switched to SD (720 x 480)and haven’t had any more problems.
    Good Luck!

Have you rendered first before you play the timeline?

Yes I have rendered but it still gives me some jerkiness..
However..I just exported the timeline to tape and the result was smooth…but just out of curiosity what would be the best settings for exporting an AVI file…some of my exports looked horrible..
    thanks

What do you plan on using the export for? There are different optimals for different uses. However, one thing that seems to remain constant is the idea of using CBR instead of VBR for anything under 75min. It’s also shorter render time.
