  • Still images in preview monitor.

I recently upgraded to PP CS6 and am continuing on a project started in CS3. I am using a great deal of archival still images scanned at a maximum of 4,000 lines in either dimension. The larger images allow for panning and zooming and that resolution seemed to be the maximum I could import into CS3. I had no problems using this approach in CS3. Now in CS6, I can still import them, but when I try to open them into the preview monitor they will either work ok (rarely), flash the image momentarily then disappear, or not appear at all. The file name still shows above the preview monitor. When I insert from this blank preview monitor it acts like it is inserting, but nothing goes on the timeline. However, I can simply drag the file to the timeline from the project window and manually adjust duration, etc. and it works fine, although it is a bit of a cumbersome work flow.

I tested lower resolution files at 1900 lines and they show up in the preview monitor just fine, but don’t allow for any flexibility for panning or zooming in the project.

    What am I missing?
