  • Still image scaling – how to not fit to comp size?

Is there a way to not have Final Cut Pro not shrink a still image when imported? When I add the clip it shrinks the graphic to fit the composition (a graphic that is 1000px x 3000px gets scaled down to fit a 720×480 frame). I need a particular graphic to remain oversized so I can animate it and have enough pixels to allow motion without running out of graphic. I checked the FCP manual and didn’t find a whole lot on the subject.

    Thanks in advance.

Just change the scale back to 100%. FCP doesn’t actually “import” anything. It simply links to things. Your graphic hasn’t changed. Just the scale. It’s a convenience feature that’s desired most of the time. Just change the scale to 100%.
