  • Still Image Export shows compression lines

Hi, I am exporting still images from FCP, but they all come out badly compressed. The footage involves quick moving dancers and all image formats (JPG, TIFF, photoshop, all set on best quality) come out with areas of movement such as the dancers’ arms with those thin lines from compression artifacts. In the FCP canvas window, the still image looks good. Is there a way to export a still image with the best possible quality, least compression, that looks as good as in the FCP canvas window? Thanks.

[Andy Kachor] “with those thin lines”

    thats interlacing at work Andy.

open one in photoshop and apply the Video, De-interlace filter.

    lines will be gone.

you could set up a batch automation to do them all quickly

Don’t deinterlace them if someone is doing more work on them in a compositing app, or you could lose resolution and end up with more trouble for them.

Thanks Chris, that worked like a charm.
