  • Still image batch duration adjust?

Posted by Kess Broekman-dattner on October 7, 2009 at 5:22 am

Heya oh most well educated ones. I got a music video to direct, which involves 3 odd minutes of still images sequenced together. When you place an image in the timeline of FCP 6 its auto duration is 10secs. Is there some way to adjust the length of a whole batch of images to something like 3 frames dur each? So then I can just pop them all into a time line without having to click and adjust the duration for EACH image, one by one, in a batch of several thousand images …

My brain’s melting at the thought of it …

    Thanks everyone!

Put then in the time line, adjust the duration on one then right click/control click and choose copy. Select the rest of the images on the timeline and right click/control click and past attributes. In the little window that pops up select duration.

    Hi Kess,
In User Preferences> Editing, you have the “Still/Freeze Duration”.
Adjust it before importing the stills.
    Cheers,

Still images in the timeline can change duration by selecting them and right-click and choosing duration. Type in 3 period and press return twice.

    All the best,

    Tom

Thanks guys. Brilliantly fast, and hugely relevant. As always. Keep an eye out for the clip Fast Friends, by Paul Dempsey. It may be mine, and in large part thanks to y’all …
