    Hi,

Once again, i come back on this topic since even though i applied previous advices it appears proAnimator and Invigo still do reject some of my illustrator files with error message “no path to use” or something like that essentially.

I still wonder if this is due to my ununderstanding of AI files or proAnimator, but i would like if Zaxwerks could finally define a general guide to help avoid some bad workflows.

I am working alone having to use tens of softwares and it is never easy to become expert in every areas there are. For the last 3 years i had to learn self-paced about 20 different packages on the market.

On my very last attemps, and headache, i imported a geographical map into illustrator, traced them into vectors, converted them into live paint to fill in some gaps, expanded them. When trying to import in proAnimator to get 3D version: No path.

What to do? What to avoid? Can zaxwerk define some general rules of thumb or FAQ as to what to do, what not to do, what to avoid to help? What about this case here?

    Thank you

I’ll try right after i install the CS3 master series which i just received by UPS 🙂

Meanwhile i wonder if the mistake came from what i did in Illustor while editing the paths or due to export settings.

Can you tell me therotically if live tracing a picture, converting to live paint then expand before exporting for proAnim is good practice?

    Thank you

Theoretically it should be okay but I’ve found in practice that it’s best to check and make sure all the compound paths are correct, paths are closed etc. If you’d like to send me the file I can check and see where the problem may be.
