Still having problems: “File Import Failure”
Hi All,
I am still having problems transferring clips to Time Line or Project window of CS4 or PPro1.5. I could copy all clips from the Sony Clip Browser(SXS Memory Card Reader) to HardDrive(not C:\drive). But when I drag clips from Hard Drive to Project Window, it says “File Import Failure” and file format (.MP4)not supported. The file shows like this:
J:\test1\20100306210847\BPAV\CLPR\Test01\Test01.MP4
I really would appreciate if anyone could help me from the basics..I was trying this for the last 2weeks..I have uninstalled AdobeCS4 and installed PPro1.5. Still no difference.
My machine is a Dell 2.8GHz, 2GB DDR2RAM, plenty of internal and external HDD spaces.
Hope some one out there might help me with step by step procedure to get it going…

Try importing to Project window instead of dragging.
Go to Media Browser (usually located next to Effects) . . then highlight the files there, and then click “import”. This will import the files directly into the Project Window, and into the folder that is highlighted there.
You should have no problems … this system works as smooth as cutting soft butter.
Are you dragging your memory card files directly to your hard drive via Sony Clip Browser? You should be.

Ur instructions were brilliant. I have followed ur instructions to the dot. It has started to work on me because of ur step by step instructions. I had to uninstall 1.5 and re-install CS4 again. U have saved my time and lots energy on frustration.
