  • Still have problem updating PPro 1.5 -> 1.5.1

Posted by Nomad1999 on May 28, 2005 at 3:04 am

I finally received my new Sony Z1U 😉

But now I am having problems updating PPro to 1.5.1, i get a message about ASLFoundation.dll not being the original.

I tried reinstalling and still the same.

Can someone send me a proper ASLFoundation.dll that would allow me to make the update?

    Thanks

    Andre

Download an application called CrapCleaner and scan for any registry issues. Fix any issues that the program finds and restart Premiere Pro.

Did run the CCleaner and treated all.

I still have the problem with ASLFoundation.dll and the 1.5.1 update.

    I get the following message:

    Unable to update ASLFoundation.dll.
The file on your system does not match the original Premiere Pro 1.5 file exptected and it cannot be updated.

    The file Version is as follow;

    Build Number: S149 – 4/13/2004
    Company: Adobe Systems Incorporated
    File Version: 1,5,0,0
    Language: Language Neutral
    Original File name: ASFoundation.dll
    Product Name: Adobe Premiere Pro
    Product Version: 1,5,0,0

It sounds like you need to remove Premiere Pro completely. Then reinstall 1.5, then install the 1.5.1 upgrade.

That would be the best thing to do. But, before re-installing insert your Premiere Pro disc and try to loacte the DLL file and replace it with the file on your system. Might work or it might not.

I will check it out. Do you know where the DLL is located?

I do not have this .dll anywhere on my PC. That is why I suggest making sure that not only is Premiere Pro removed from the system, but make sure to delete the directory where the preferences file is located, and any other Premiere Pro folder other than project files. No need to get rid of project files.

    Steven,

Just uninstalled PPro 1.5 and the C:Program FilesAdobePremiere Pro 1.5 directory was totally empty. Then reinstalled PPro and that file did reapeared…

There are actually 3 ASL files, ASLConsole.dll, ASLFoundation.dll and ASLUnitTesting.dll whatever they are I don’t really know.

Now is there such think as International version of Premiere Pro ?
I have looked inside the ASLFoundation.dll and found error messages in different languages; English, French, Spanish, …

Maybe that would explain why. But now how to fix this?

I have ASLFoundation.dll in two folders on my system:

    C:Program FilesAdobeAfter Effects 6.5Support Files
    and
    C:Program FilesAdobePremiere PRO 1.5

The same applies to ASLConsole.dll and ASLUnittesting.dll

Both programs work normally, as well as Premiere 1.5.1

    Andre,

Can you do a property check on these files and let me know if it is the same as what I have posted before?

    That would really help

Or maybe you can email them to me to see if that solve my problem.

    Thanks
