I need to create an effect that consists of particles slowly falling..stopping…then building on top of an irregularly shaped surface. The effect is to show sediment collecting and growing on top of an existing layer. Any advice regarding a specific generator that will enable this or perhaps advice on how to get Particle Playground to achieve the effect is most welcome.

Er…I don’t know about Particle Playground but Trapcode Particular does this very easily.

Particle Playground is able to do this. I have a tutorial, here at the COW, Fun in Particle Playland. Towards the end of the tutorial, there is a part where the balls stick onto a single object. It could easily be multiple objects.

If you can afford it, Particular would be a good buy – going by what folks say about it.
