Looking for a new set of sticks and fluid head for a Canon XF 305 for field use. (5-6 pounds)

Need lightweight legs, and professional fluid head, but are willing to look at some non name brand
gear if the quality is there.

    Any recommendations?

    Thanks

I think personal preference comes into play here.
When I am on a job where the equipment is coming out of a rental house I always go with an O’Connor 2575 fluid head. A little large for your purposes but O’Connor makes a great head for all sizes.
However, I personally own a Cartoni head and sticks for personal projects with a canon 5d or HVX or something along those lines. It works great and the price is reasonable.
Try to get yourself to a place that has some demos.
One thing I can advise is that if you are doing productions that require operating off a head, do not get a cheap fluid head and sticks. You will drive yourself crazy trying to get smooth fluid moves.
