How can I instance objects to the vertexes of an object using particles?

I have used Mesh Array as part of the Jenna plugs, but it is very slow in responding and doesn’t give as much control as particles.

I know there is the particle node that randomly distributes particles along a surface, But I need the grid like structure that comes with attaching to vertices.

In Maya I would just turn the object into a softbody (which convertes the vertices to particles) then hide the geomtery. Then just instance objects to those particles.

What is the best way in C4D?

    Hi Chris,
In the object library (Objects>Object Library) you’ll find TP Point Emitter, TP Edge Emitter, and TP Polygon Emitter. You can use any of those to emit particles from the referenced location. All you have to do is set velocity to 0, drag the object you want to emit into the object reference box, and add a Particle Geometry object to your scene. Well, and set the number of particles. If you want to customize anything you can either add to these Xpressions or you can reverse engineer them to suit your purposes.
