Posted by Gary Pollard on August 24, 2011 at 11:01 pmPlenty of room for speculation on what that means to the future of Final Cut Pro, and Apple.

August 24, 2011 at 11:25 pmIt does mean nothing.
It only means that Steve Jobs is a very sick man and we all should wish him the best possible health for the rest of his hopefully very long life!

August 25, 2011 at 4:29 amThere was a time in baseball when a pitcher got older and lost his endurance to go nine but still had great stuff he became an excellent relief pitcher. Steve Jobs now moves to the Ace Closer.
He’ll continue to coach the younger players and be ready “for the call” at any game to come in for the late innings to close the deals for Apple. He’ll continue to be the veteran closer at keynotes. Steve will be in charge of “One More Thing” as he sees each vision born.

August 25, 2011 at 10:07 amQuote from Jobs in a 1994 Rolling Stone piece: “I have a great respect for incremental improvement, and I’ve done that sort of thing in my life, but I’ve always been attracted to the more revolutionary changes. I don’t know why. Because they’re harder. They’re much more stressful emotionally. And you usually go through a period where everybody tells you that you’ve completely failed.”
Best,

August 27, 2011 at 12:32 am[Craig Seeman] “Steve Jobs now moves to the Ace Closer.” I think you’re overestimating the state of his health, according to the most recent pictures on TMZ and elsewhere. I wish him a strong recovery, but he is looking seriously frail.
