Stereoscopic Animation in After Effects
Hello all,
So I just got off a con call and the client is thinking about doing a job that requires the use of 3D glasses. This is something I have never done before in AFX, but would love to try. I have very limited knowledge of HOW this technology works. After a little searching I have found this tutorial…
https://interactive.usc.edu/members/phoberman/archives/afterEffectsTutorial.pdfIt uses a Stereo Calculator App that helps you set the Left and Right Cameras in AFX
My question(s) is this: Is this tutorial what I should be looking at? And if so, how would one test the actual “3D ness” of the final output. From what I read there are two types of 3d glasses, ones that are passive that accept the images from 2 projectors with polarizers on them ( which a computer screen can not do ) and the other are the electronic 3d glasses that are synced with the screen to seperate the left and right cameras….I am guessing that is the route I would need to go to test this easily.
Any help, ideas, or general point in the right direction would be great. Thanks for reading this long post.
