    Stereo 3D workflow headaches!

Currently I use a 3D rig in cinema, sort of roughly estimating the 3d effect using the reference planes from the rig. *

Render out the left and right eyes, bring it into AE and send it out from there to a 3D TV I have hooked up.. THEN check out the stereo effect.. Which often requires a bit of tweaking

Make adjustments and re-render, re-import into AE every time it changes a bit..

It’s slow and frustrating.. If I could send out my viewport to the TV directly then that would be perfect.. Anybody know if that’s possible?

That way I could get that viewport to display side by side using a plugin and then send that out. Would enable totally live previewing of the 3d effect..

I’ve considered getting a 3d monitor as my second monitor and just dragging the viewport to it but as I don’t know any way of getting proper full screen in c4d (without toolbars etc) then the effect wouldn’t line up 100% correctly.
(If that’s not clear I mean that I would set my viewport to display as side by side then set the monitor to look for a side by side signal.)

There are plenty of other people asking similar questions online but I haven’t seen any answers that really worked.

Are any of you doing stuff in 3d with c4d? How do you do it?

    Thanks,
    James

*The rig I’ve been using is pretty good and was free, if you intend on doing any c4d stereo3d it’s worth a look, some good video explanations too: https://www.svoigt.net/
