Even after looking through some of the posts re. stereo to mono tracks, I am still having some issues.

So we have stereo audio from an audio recorder. I only want audio from the left side.

So I unlink everything and delete the unusable audio.
Then I Center the remaining track using the Modify Menu and also verify that it is centered by clicking the clip into the source window.

However, The track still seems to think that it is half of a stereo channel and still only comes out the left speaker.

Are there other things I need to change to make this behave like a mono track?

Try duplicating the audio track, and then change one to L and one to R. Might fix it….

Check how your sequence is set. The audio should be outputting to stereo and the tracks patched to both outputs. Don’t double tracks. It just creates a whole lot of unnecessary work for the sound post people going through and deleting.
