Any suggestions on how best to get a stereo recording of a live music performance, either in-cam or standalone to sink later. I beg the audio techy for an xlr feed from his desk to my cam but of course that sound is mixed for stage output not camera and it’s mono.

    cheers

The way to “best” get a stereo recording of a live performance is to record, through a seperate mixer than the house, to a multitrack device and mixdown the music later in post.

    What’s your budget?

Could someone give an example of a standard rate to hire an audio technician for a custom live mix (in the Midwest)? I know there are many variables per project, equipment configuration… but any general guideline would help.
