Avid Xpress Pro w/ Mojo HPw8000 plenty of Ram, lots of disk space. I have a weekly show with animated .mov banners and title tool titles nested as lower 3rds. After I duplicate and paste these into each weeks show, when I step into the collapsed tracks to edit the titles (2) I get the “Oh my God, exit to bugfix” window, to which I hit the “continue” several times, before it allows me to continue. After 2 or 3 of these events, The program bugs out and crashes. If I completely recreate the title, there is no problem until I step back in, say for a spelling correction, and here we go again! I’m rendering the effects at DV50 over 1:1 video. I have the same problem working at DV25. I’ve also tried everything at 1:1. No luck. I can find nothing on the Avid forums about this, but thought I’d post here before reinstalling the software (again).

    Thanks! BC

Bill, sometimes just trashing your settings and building new ones fixes these bugs. I had several ghosts int he machine when I got an adrenaline. As ghosts build up, I have found moving on to new settings fixes things much of the time.
I hope this works for you, man.

I’m replying to my own post in case this happens to someone else. (ahem). I cleaned out the unused precomputes and media files via Media tool, rebuilt the data base on the media storage drives, and the problem dissapeared. A corrupt file, maybe.
    All is well. BC

Thanks, but it seemed to be a recurrent bad file, not settings.
