What is the best way to create steam rising from a cup and then have the steam form letters for an ending statement…like Happy Holidays. The camera would pan up with the steam where the steam would then collect and form letters. I have particle illusion, but would trapcode work best for the steam creating the letters? Or should I work with CCParticles?

Any lead would be helpful. Found nothing in any of the older posts

    Thanks Brian

There is a post about clouds forming letters that might help but don’t forget that it might not be a one-plugin solution. You could create your steam with one plugin, your letters with another, and morph them into one another with a third.

That’s not going to be a one-step solution. You need to actually have multiple layers/ instances and blend them at each step of the way. I’d create the text as a clean text layer and displace it using e.g. Turbulent Displace, conmbined with a Roughen Edges effect to erode the outlines. This will be much more controllable. For the smoke it doesn’t really matter much which tool you use- The biggest problem will be to make it soft and sill have enough volume to form the letters. You could even do it with warped and distorted Fractal Noise layers…

CHeck this site for lots of great AE particle effects like smoke and steam that don’t use any particles.
