Posted by Nugas Sayami on February 26, 2015 at 6:38 amPremiere always starts timeline from 0. Isn’t it possible to start from frame 1 ?
It’s possible in After Effects. There should be some way..

February 26, 2015 at 6:45 amTimelines should start at 1;00;00;00. Or in Europe, 10;00;00;00. Well, unless it’s for broadcast, then we start at 58;00;00 or so…to allow for color bars and a slate. But program start is always on the 0 frame. You can change that if you want…but I don’t see what that really gets you. If you want to measure the timing of a show perfectly, you need to have the first frame be 00

February 26, 2015 at 11:31 amIN the upper left of the timeline, there’s an icon that looks like a box with several horizontal lines. Click on that and a menu will appear. In that menu, choose START TIME:
Change the number in there to 00;00;00;01

February 26, 2015 at 11:32 amThanks but that only changes timecode but not frames. Switch to frames and you will notice the frames starting still from 0.

February 26, 2015 at 12:18 pmI would imagine this is so because of the absolute nature of frames and its history in film.
I’m curious as to why you would want it at 1 as opposed to zero. I’d just like to understand.
As for fixing it – file a feature request or bug report here: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform

February 26, 2015 at 12:32 pmHi Dennis,
I’m working with an animation. So, need to keep track of each frames.
It’s easy for me to start a clip with timecode set to frames and start by 1.
That way a clip starts with 1 and if it ends at 180frames, then the lenght is simply 180 frames.
But if that clip had started from frame 0 and ended at 179, that’s same too but I’m always confused with adding or subtracting leading the duration to either 178 or 180 hehehe.Anyway, it’s always easy to do math with frames starting with 0 for me atleast. 😀
For eg, I have 3 clips with following end frames:
180f
20f
200f
The math is simple for total duration : 180+20+200=400f
but if it has started with 0f then the math would be complex like below
179+1+19+1+199+1 = 400f
😀Quicktime player is quite miss leading, if you look closely. you will get extra frame at the end and there is no way to set frame to 0 too.
