I’m trying to bring in a large number of clips at once. The material is XDCAM 100Mbs (recorded on the Nano Flash). When I AMA and transcode I get an error message almost every time. When I import it seems to do much better. I’m trying to set up a huge import and let the machines(I have 3 separate machines going) chug away overnight but all three failed. I’m running MC6 on all three. 2 machines have 1G RAM per core and one has less. My storage drives are external G-Tech esata drives. Any thought on whey I get the error messages? Thanks in advance.

I don’t have an answer for you, and i’ve never worked with XDcam at 100 Mbits.
I do know however 100 Mbits MXF from Ikegami don’t work either, so perhaps it’s something inside Avid that is messed up at 100 Mbits (this is a HUGE uneducated guess though!)

You could try importing while transcoding to DNxHD, perhaps that will work.

To solve my problems, i’ve made something to transcode them to DNxHD avid MXF outside Avid.
That works swell for me. I could perhaps make it compatible with XDcam, but i never seen the stuff…
