  • Stabilizing Motion with a shot…

Hey gang. The shot that needs to be stabilized is a shot that has a close-up of a face, then slowly zooms out to reveal a bunch of people. The problem is that though the camera was on a tripod when this was taped, you can still see a noticable shaky movment as it zooms out. I’ve read the directions, help books, etc.. on motion stabilizing, but it’s no good. The shot keeps on going right up and out of the frame. It is following the track all right, but the problem is that the zooming back makes the entire scene move up and to the left. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Matt

try to take your stablized footage comp and make it large enough to so the footage stays with in the frame. then create a new comp with the frame size of your footage (and frame rate, etc), bring in your stablized footage comp and key frame position to keep it in frame. just enough keys to keep the pan (or tilt) movement of the camera, not the shake.
