  • Stabilizing footage, THEN tracking something onto the stabilized footage?

Hello friends, I’ve stabilized a clip with the warp stabilizer (which is worth getting AE for!) and now I’d like to add a moon to the sky, but when I track a point on the footage, it tracks onto the original file, not the stabilized version.

Can you track onto stabilized footage without rendering the stabilized version?

(I could render the stabilized version, re-import, then use that as a tracking layer, keeping my untouched original footage as the version you actually see, but this is long winded!)
    thankyou

Stabilize your footage and then precomp it, then in your final comp add the motion tracking.
