In working with stabilizing hand-held footage without a lot of good choices for a focal point, I end up with several stabilizers: as one good spot leaves the frame, I create another stabilizer and track that, and so on. Picture a guy standing on a stage with a black background and no scenery. Yeah, it’s no fun.

In the current project, I think I’m up to 20 or so motion trackers. That can’t be good, can it?

    So, a couple questions:

1: After several motion trackers, the track points will start being created with the crosshair very far away. I move it back into the feature region and all seems to be well, but what’s going on there? Why is the crosshair created so far away, and does it matter?

2: Is there a better way to do this than having many motion trackers?

    Best regards,

    – Bill
