This is off topic but you seem to know everything about FCPX. Quick question…I tried to check the Stabilization box and it goes through analyzing the clip, then it just un-checks the Stabilization box and nothing happens…same thing happens when I check rolling shutter. Would you be able to tell why this is happening? I would appreciate it!

hello,
which kind of footage are you using?in my experience fcpx seems to have some trouble stabilizing interlaced footage. if you are using interlaced footage, just try to convert a testclip of your footage into progressive with compressor or so, and then reimport, look that fcpx interprets it right in the inspector as prograssive and then try again. could be that you have to do this step with your footage…

got it! double click the clip in the time line that you would like to Analyze and Stabilize.. double click again. and again. until you can’t reduce the file any further and then VUALA! its back! the option is back in the inspector.. also, the clip, in the timeline, has a drop down arrow in the top right corner.. you can find the stabilize option from that list as well.

still learning.. but loving the upgrade for sure. big curve. but worth it in the end. I have yet to take the course offered by an instructor friend of mine.. should prove to be promising. contact me for info. he offers on-site training. brilliant man. anyways. hope that helps.

you may need to trim the clip back down to the point of interest that you started with.. otherwise you are working with the entire native length of the clip.
