I have some hand-held wedding footage that I’d like to use, but it is not as steady as I’d like. Is it possible to smooth/stabalize a short clip a bit? Is there a plug-in for this effect? I can’t find anything in the list of effects nor in the Index or Search in Help.

Premiere Pro 1.5 came with 2d3 company’s SteadyMove-plugin. Effects>VideoEffects>2d3>SteadyMove. It may help you.

Agreed. I’ve been playing with it a little lately. While it’s a limited version compared to the full SteadyMove Pro, the default settings always seem to work fine.

BTW, you need to install the plug-in from the Premiere Pro 1.5 CD.

    Thanks for the info.

However: I’ve tried to find SteadyMove on the CD, with no success. I can’t find it on the disk with Windows Explorer, and I tried the Install window and the Explore CD Content button — no results. I Searched the CD and the Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 folder on the HD — no results. I also looked in the Plug-ins folder on the HD and couldn’t find anything. I then ran the Repair cycle from the CD (thinking there might be a window for installing additional features) with no results. I am running from an Educational Version CD (because that’s who I’m working for), but that often doesn’t make a big difference. Any idea how I can find/install it?

It does not come on the education CD.

Go to the support area, Find Answers, FAQs and look for Steadymove.
