  • stabalising a shaky shot, while maintaining the smooth tracking movement

    Hi there,

I’m working with a close-up shot of a man’s face, which tracks back on a dolly, widening the frame to reveal more of his body and surroundings. We shot on a 85mm lens and as a result, the close up is a bit shaky. I want to eliminate the shake from the shot, but maintain the smooth track. Could anyone please advise on how to achieve this?

    Many thanks

    Nick

you can choose to stabilize on just the y-axis, which may help.

another option is to try and stabilize the whole shot, then re-create smoother movement with keyframes.

I use such an example in this introduction to the Warp Stabilizer.

The important thing is to set Result to Smooth to keep the camera motion and then tweak Smoothness to determine how much to keep.
