has any one been using either a Crucial M500 480GB 2.5-inch Internal SSD or 512GB 2.5-inch SSD 840 Pro Series for DaVinci? i also do allot of audio multi track playback with Ableton Live & i would like to find a drive that preforms best for both applications.

    What os ?

SSD is more OS based than Resolve based.

If ssd works with your os and machine good i see no reason it would not work with Resolve.

Look in google about your os and machine combination for suitability.

Some time ago Intel and Samsung were good options by some users on mac.

I use Samsung Pro models myself.

Some other makers ssd had a lot of fails with mac.

Have had this one: Crucial M4 CT512M4SSD2 2.5″ 512GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive for more than a year and its great! Makes my 17″ mb pro scream. Also have one as the system drive in my Mac Pro 5.1 as the system drive with no problems.
YMMV, but its worth the price!
