I’m on 2019 (16.1.1), and this didn’t happened to me with 2017. I’m working in an sRGB colorspace and creating sRGB proxies. What happens is that After Effects interprets the proxies as Rec.709 gamma 2.4 and it makes the proxie noticeably darker.

Does anyone have any thoughts on how to fix this or work around this?

    Best regards,

If you right click on the clip in the project window, choose “interpret footage” then “interpret proxy” you should hopefully be able to change the color management settings.

    Hopefully this works?
