  SR-MV45U Dubbing Recorder – Adding chapters?

  I have the SR-MV45U DVD video recorder & Video Cassette Recorder Deck.
  I use it to convert VHS to DVD as well as old home movies from my camcorder to DVD.

  My question is about adding chapters. Right now, I have an 8mm video camera hooked up to the F-1 input on the deck. I hit the dubbing direction to read “VCR to DVD” and and have the tapes play in my camera and record to DVD. They come out great, however sometimes, the deck will put chapter markers in and sometimes it doesn’t.

  I have the “Add chapter markers” menu option turned to on. How can I get the machine to put chapter markers in automatically? Am I doing something wrong? Can I put chapter markers in after the recording is finished but before finalization?

  Ideally, I would like the machine to put the chapters in automatically, (ie. every 10 minutes). Is this even possible?
  Why do some tapes trigger the machine to put chapter markers in and others don’t? I believe they were all recorded the same way.

  Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you!
