March 13, 2007 at 3:41 pmDVX doesn’t have 16:9 chips, so no, the image doesn’t get wider when you go into 16:9 mode. It just crops off the top and bottom of the image.

March 14, 2007 at 4:55 pmThe DVX is a 4:3 camera. It shoots 4:3 video.
If you want 16:9 video, it electronically stretches the center of the 4:3 image to become 16:9. You can’t have both 4:3 and 16:9 without some compromise; this is how the DVX does it. The DVX (and all 4:3 cameras) has to do it that way.
