hi guys – I’m having some more Squeeze trouble 🙁 I have a quicktime file that is 30Gig using the DVCPro50 codec. I need squeeze to compress it down into an MP4 or something. But squeeze says that the format is not compatible! I tried installing a codec pack that included a DVCPro codec but still no luck…… does anyone have any suggestions?? thanks

On Windows? (which doesn’t support DVCPro natively)
Was the codec you installed DVCPro50 or plain DVCPro? (because they’re not the same thing)
You can buy the codec for PCs though, or try the free Avid codec for Windows 2k and XP:

hi, yeah it’s on windows. ummmm, the I think it was a DVCPro50 codec, it was the only one I could find online, I think it was a matrox one(?)

so the Avid download includes a DVCPro50 codec?

    Thanks

Matrox *does* offer a DVCPro50 codec. I haven’t personally used the Avid codec for DVCPro 50
video on a PC, but they do include DVCPro50 support, and the link I sent you allows you to use
Avid’s codecs in other applications, so you should be good to go.
