Brand-new to using Squeeze (and FC, for that matter…)
So far, every time I try to use Squeeze, it crashes at 50% complete; just stops and have to force quit. On G5, 10.4; dragged QT file exported from FC into Squeeze window, appplied QT CD preset, hit go button…fails at 50%.
Any suggestions? (Already wrote to Sorenson, and noted several unanswered similar queries in their forum…:(
    Thanks!

QT Movie BUT is your source a DV NTSC timeline or . . . ?
Is your move Self Contained or Reference?

DV NTSC in the Timeline, yes…and tried both self-contained and ref exports.

I’ve seen that strange problem where you have to drag in the file to Squeeze. I haven’t had the crashing though using the CD preset though.

    Try the following:
    Repair Disk Permissions
    Toss Squeeze Preferences
Export from FCP as Self Contained

Playback self contained movie in Quicktime first and make sure that file is without issues.

    Then place in Squeeze.

Sorenson Squeeze 4.2 for Mac should be going into Beta soon so we should make sure they hear about repeatable issues and check that they’ve been solved in the beta.

when you export from FCP, try adding .mov to the name.
This MAY help Squeeze recognise the file for importing, without having to drag it in.

Add .mov to the file allows one to import file into Squeeze without dragging. Although it’s a bit of a drag to have to do that.
