square vs non-square
I created a 15 second spot in 720×486 that will go to air. I created it non-square since there was no video. When I put it into D1/DV (0.9) it looks too stretched. The spot is going to be put on a beta tape. Can it go to air in square pixels, or do I have to interpret it in final cut? When I render it out D1/DV in After Effects it looks terrible. Suggestions to keep the same proportions?

NTSC is always non square. If you created photoshop artwork at NTSC frame sizes (720 X 486 or 720 X 480) and you didn’t use the non square PAR in photoshop then your artwork must be interpreted as square pixels even though After Effects will try and interpret it as D1 non square pixels. Your composition must be set to non square (.9)
If you want to see what your NTSC project without distortion in the Composition window then turn on PAR correction at the bottom of the window. If you can’t find it check the help files.
