Square Bracket keys not working as keyboard shortcuts in After Effects CS6, Windows 7 US keyboard setup
Ok I’m a bit confused why this isn’t working:
I have just upgraded my setup at home to a Windows 7 laptop running the CS6 Production Suite. The shortcuts for layer trimming and snapping to the playhead in the timeline — or the square bracket keys: [ and ] — will not work. I made sure the keyboard language is set to US – English so I’m not sure if I’m missing something else.
The laptop is an Alienware M17X R4 if it matters.

System restart and everything works fine.

Try to delete your Prefs File.
Hold Ctrl/Cmnd + alt/Optn + Shift while AE starts and a window will pop up: “Delete the Adobe After effect Settings file??[Yes/No].
