    Hi All,
I have downloaded the trial of 11 (newest update) and have 2 computers with correct video cards to use GPU acceleration. I only care about PREVIEWING at this time. I purchased the Radeon HD 6870 (as it showed the highest preview acceleration in SVP on their website), and I also have the GeForce GTX 460 (768MB version). I have all the newest drivers, and the Radeon card is on a brand-new fresh installed system. Here is the kicker, I am not seeing much of a difference from CPU to GPU preview, it is enabled on both systems (in SVP’s prefence boxes/tabs) and there is really no difference. Is there something I may be doing wrong? I am using multiple formats (HDV, AVCHD and MXF formats) in multiple projects. I am once again just expecting too much from this, I am praying for butter smooth preview….thanks for any input.
    Regards

You won’t really see much of a difference unless the transitions/effects you’re using are GPU accelerated.

Also, you need to check in Vegas that GPU acceleration is activated. Go under options and under the video tab there should be a dropdown which allows you to select gpu or cpu. Make sure it’s set to GPU.

I am aware of all that, it seems that there are known issues with GPU acceleration in SVP11. I actually have to disable it to render well for anything AVC! My main concern is preview, and at this point I am not getting 4.2 times better on the card that they “tested” it with….not overly happy with spending more money on a card that barely gets better previews…but thanks for the input!
