I’m modelling the spout of a liquer bottle top pourer. I used two sliced toruses, one smaller diameter than the other, in a boule to create the spout. I want the edge created at the mouth to have a bevelled edge. I’m having trouble with this as the boule has created lots of extra polygons. I guess I’m asking what’s the simplest and cleanest method of bevelling the edges of holes created by a boule?

    Thanks in advance

Actually your entire approach is w”bad modeling technique”. You shouldn’t use booleans at all, but rather a Sweep NURBS object with a hollow profile. Not only will it give you the option to create rounded caps instantly, but even when you convert it to polygons your geometry will be much cleaner.

    Thanks Mylenium,

That’s a much more sensible way to model my tube. Now I have another boule question… I have a capsule primitive that I want the tube to intersect with, so that it protrudes from a hole in the capsule slightly larger than it’s diameter.

I have made a boule with the capsule and a slightly larger version of my tube. I now have a hole in my capsule. What’s the best way of rounding or bevelling the edge of the hole so it isn’t crisp and catches the light better?

sorry if I’m a crap modeller – even though I use c4d a reasonable amount, I just don’t get enough practice at basic modelling.

Convert your boolean to a polygon object (current state to object or simply press C), select the edges and use the bevel tool with a Convex bevel type and some more subdivisions. This will create circular fillets such as you need.
