I want to start creating a weekly podcast and eventually get sponsors to advertise at the beginning and
    maybe end of each podcast.

    1. How do you contact companies to do this? Any advice?

    2. What are the amounts they pay based on? Number of subscribers I am guessing? OR number of
    downloads on average?

    3. If I had 10,000 subscribers, how do you assign a value to that?

    Thanks for any info!!!!

You will need to develop a listener base first, and go after sponsors 12-18 months later at the earliest, assuming if you have a hit on your hands after this time.

They need to see longevity and quality. Podcast burnout is very common – most never see past the tenth weekly episode. The frequency often trails off too, and sponsors don’t like that at all.

Be incredibly focused, come out regularly, and the sponsors will come to you. Not necessarily with buckets of cash, but they figure out the real players quickly and easily, and after doing this for a year you will know the answer to your questions. Good luck!
