I’m playing with stereo wav sound clips that originated from a pair of lav mics. I’d like to split this wav into two mono tracks. Can this be done in Audition either natively or with a plugin?

Ideally, I’d be able to run a script that made the change and resaved the file without rendering, so that I could simply import it into Premiere for sync.

Stereo tracks are split on the screen into top and bottom. Simply highlight the bottom track and then under the “File” menu, choose “Save Selection.” Then do the same thing to the top track. You will then have two saved mono tracks.

In the waveform tab to the far right of each track are very small L and R buttons. unchecking one will allow you to select the other, which you then need to save as a separate file etc.
The soundtrack pro and FCP user in me is questioning the choice of NLE right about now.
