  Splitting obect

  Hello all,

  I am having trouble splitting an object into separate parts.

  I have a shape, and I would like to divide it into two or more parts. Unfortunately, I cannot make the scissor tool, knife tool or cut path tool work correctly. It just doesn’t seem to work, no matter whether i have anchor points selected or not.

  In the image photo you’ll see what I’m trying to accomplish – I have the top and bottom parts of a logo attached to each other by a bunch of junk. I need to remove those parts. What’s the best approach?
