splitting audio tracks into two channels and panning them
I think this is very common in the music industry and used for vocals in basically every song – the same information in two channels, which are panned left and right accordingly.
My question / idea – would this make sense with music tracks as well ?
I’ve tried this with a stereo track and not sure if it actually sounds any better / different or if it’s just placebo. Is this technique used in film as well ? If so, only for dialogues, or other things as well ?
My thinking is, that it would give a more immersed, richer feeling to the movie…
