    I’m working in FCP 4.5.

I’m attempting to create a split track audio version for archiving a TV show that I do. All Voices in audio track 1 and music & Nat sound in audio track 2.

For most audio clips this is no problem to pan completely one direction or the other. I do come across trouble when I have something such as music where the Ch 1 & Ch 2 are identical, only one tab shows up in the viewer and moving one side moves the other side in the oposite direction when I pan. It winds up giving me the same mixed stereo audio in both channels because one side is counter acting the other. I can’t figure out how to break them apart, or get them to behave in the same pan direction. I also try to delete one Ch so that I can just pan the other channel and aparently I do not know how to do this either. I lock one channel and try to toss the other but this apparently is not allowed.

Any suggestions on deleting an audio channel or getting the pan to behave correctly when they show up as only one tab in the viewer?

    Thanks for your time!

Select the stereo audio and choose Modify>Stereo Pair. This will Unstereo them, and allow you to pan both tracks to the same side…
