Split Screen Push plug-in
I need to create numerous split screen pushes like in the example below. I have a ton of these videos to do and FCP 7 seems to quit out, when creating these transitions. Especially when using the whit border, which I create by using a shape layer underneath the scaled clips. A plugin would help tremendously.

That’s really a job for Apple Motion, and there are free templates out there for that effect with dropzones for the footage. Or you can build that yourself one time and save it as a template. Round-trip Exporting to/from FCP7 and Motion isn’t too bad, though not as smooth as AE.

These collections are awesome and the prices IMO are fair considering the time saved building them.
project 382 looks a little bit like yours, but more complex. You can modify and turn groups on and of to taste. Taking one apart to see the components will teach you a book’s worth of Motion skills.
They have free templates as well in the Motion 4 and Motion 5 sections, and just looking at the demos gives you a lot of ideas… so have fun browsing and downloading.
