Ive just recently discovered how to split the screen up into multiple parts using the clip, motion, and crop effect. I would love to put a white thin border around each frame. Tis is being done in loads of rap/hiphop videos at the moment, and I think its a really cool simple effect. Has anyone got any ideas on how to achieve this??

    thanks, Steve

You could draw the borders with the titler. Or, you could use the clip effect which allows you to set a fill color, then the crop effect after that.

You can do that with your clip and crop effects you’re already using..

In clip, set the fill color to white, or whatever border color you’re looking to use, then adjust each side you want a border on to be a little bit higher value than the crop value for each side.

    For example:

    Clip:
    Left 22
    Top 2
    Right 2
    Bottom 2
    Color (White)

    Crop:
    Left 21.6
    Top 1.6
    Right 1.6
    Bottom 1.6
    (Zoom unchecked)

That gives a very thin white border around the whole clip, and it’s essentially just slightly cropped on the left. Then the motion can be used and doesn’t affect your border at all. 🙂
