Is there a way to split or trim footage from an XML? I mean, besides Red footage.

Basically, I have a job with 1TB worth of Alexa footage that I conformed, but I don’t won’t to work from the external hard drive that it’s located on. I just want to store it locally on my SSD as it probably only ends up to be 40GB worth of footage after the edit.

    Any workarounds for this?

    Thanks!

the used clips are around 1TB, or the full source footage is around 1TB? If the full, than simply copy the used clips to your drive.
If this is not possible – and you don’t mind converting the footage- you could export the conformed video to DPX, or Prores4444
